Just Cause 2

Today's profile is:

 This game is amazing, there are lots of things to do and lots of goodies and extras to be found. 
The game is lots of fun, you can blow many things and in fact the game expects you to blow up lots of stuff.


However, there is an issue with controls on PC. 
Being this a Steamworks title, you can activate Steam's layout by pressing Shift+Tab at the same time. 
However, this game uses, by default "Shift" for running and "Tab" for dodging. This means if you try to run and dodge at the same time you will bring Steam's overlay. 


I strongly recommend you to change the in-game settings so Dodging uses any other key than tab. In this profile I'm using default settings, so the profile uses Shift to run and Tab to dodge. I'm doing this to make the profile compatible with default controls but you can change the keys, and in fact, I recommend you to change them.


So let's have a look at the layout:

 Weapons are changed using the stick. I also added the Grappling button to the stick so you can use it while moving (the standard "F" position means you can't move to the right and use the hook at the same time).
The same goes for Dodging and Handbrake. I placed them close to the stick so you can press them while moving. 
I placed the merc close to the ESC button to avoid pressing it accidentally during hot shootings.
The rest is pretty much obvious.

Modern Warfare 3

Today's game is:

It's quite similar to other MW profiles so there should be little surprises.
So far I only played the campaign so perhaps the layout is not the most suitable for multiplayer games. Anyway, if you don't want it, you can use the command list to customize your own layout :)

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (and Escape from Butcher Bay)

Today's profile is:

 I got this game during a Steam sale and it's one of the best deals I've ever gotten. The game is awesome. Escape from Butcher Bay is older and the graphics look a bit dated, but the gameplay is great and the gaming experience is awesome. I really recommend it to you.

Not very complicated. The arrows come in handy when browsing the menus, and specially in Dark Athena during the dialogs.

Battlefield 3

Today's game is:

First of all: This profile has been made using the actual (4 October 2011) beta. I have not been able to play Caspian Border so I don't have any experience with vehicles. I have included the keys to change seats but there isn't a dedicated profile for vehicles.
I only made a profile for infantry. Vehicle bindings will be very similar but I just felt the need to state this.


Now, I only played a few games so the profile might need some polishing but it seems ok for now.

He he, I already was missing cramped layouts with tons of keys.

Hard Reset

Today's game is:

 This is one of the best games I've ever played. Good old violent fun!.
Hard Reset is an old school shooter that takes place in a cyberpunk atmosphere.
It's kind of Doom meets Blade Runner.
If you like FPS games and you didn't hear about Hard Reset, I strongly recommend you to get the demo. The game is just great!

Keys G6 and G13 are the mouse's scroll wheel. Controls are simple but do their job pretty good.

Crysis 2

Today's profile is:

 I know I'm a bit late but anyway. I've been waiting to find a nice deal on this game since I didn't want to play 50€ for it. The game is OK but the first one was better in a number of ways like. Anyway, this is not a review blog so I'll stick to the topic.

The stick can also be used to navigate the weapon and nanosuit customization menus, since they have been assigned keys 1 to 4.

Dead Space 2

Today's profile is:

If you remember the controls of the first part, then you should get used to these pretty quick. They are the same controls (and the game features the same camera rotation bug).
Anyway, since the first profile was made to be used under the old drivers, I thought I should make a new one for the new v8.0.

As you can see, it's almost the same profile. It worked for me with the first part so I decided to use the same layout again.

Frozen Synapse

Today's game is:

Well well, this game was a complete surprise. It's a tactical game where you have to guide your soldiers step by step. The game packs a lot of detail and it's quite playable.
If you like RTS games you will probably like this a lot.

I just started to play it today so this profile must be understood as a beta. I will update the link if I upload a better one.
Since I'm new to the game, I'm not completele sure about which commands should be there and which not. Any constructive input will be quite welcome, as usual.


This is the current layout:

As usual in my RTS profiles, scrolling the map is done with the stick.
G1, G8 (and also G2 although it's not marked there) have been attached a lua script that moves the mouse to the OK button, the PRIME button and the NEXT button. Now, this script might not work with your monitors although it should since it uses relative units. 
I found that moving the mouse to those places was tiring (so lazy he he) and thus I created the script. 
Please tell me if it works for you.

The Witcher

Today's game is:

I know it's a bit old but still is probably the best RPG for PC right now (except The Witcher 2, that is). 
I normally don't like fantasy RPG but this was an exception. It's a game for adults, and a game for PC, not just another port.
It's a game worth it's money and I strongly recommend it.

Steel Storm

Today's profile is:

A very nice although difficult shooter. I always liked this kind of game and Steel Storm did not disappoint me. The game doesn't have that many commands but anyway I always feel more comfortable playing with my G13 than with my keyboard so I made a profile and here it is.

Red Faction: Guerrilla

Today's profile is:

 I've playing for two days and it's quite fun! This game has the best destruction engine I've never seen, including BFBC2. You can blow up stuff in awesome ways.

Dawn of War II: Retribution

Today's game is:

My favourite game is back!
This profile is the first version. I'm using one of the new Logitech driver's features, which is the M-state functions integrated functions. With previous drivers you had to write a script to use any G key to change the M-state but now there are functions, so it's a bit easier (although perhaps less rewarding. Mmm...)


Well the first thing I should say is that this profile uses the GRID configuration. By default, the game does not use grid controls so you will have to change that in the Options menu.

This is the main layout:

You can deal with your units and camera. In a first attempt, G1 and G8 had F1 and F3, that's whay G2 and G9 have F2 and F4. Surely a future version will change this, when I decide which keys work best there.




This is M2:

While in this mode, you can build and use global abilities. It's not completely exploited as you can see so there's lot of room for improvement.
